California Earthquake and Fault Map

The USGS provides a detailed interactive fault map that shows areas that are prone to earthquakes.


While this is not an earthquake map, per se, as you can not map out and predict exactly where earthquakes will occur, earthquakes are more likely to happen along fault lines like the ones shown in this map.

The USGS fault map that is shown here does not move, but if you click the link at the end of this article you can use the interactive version on the USGS site that allows you to drill down to view individual earthquake faults.
